秀茂坪道一幅岩石斜坡在1997年12月4日坍塌，碎石掩蓋四條行車線，涉及長度25米，事後道路封閉17天以便清除碎石。
A rock slope on Sau Mau Ping Road collapsed on 4 December 1997, covering four traffic lanes over a length of 25 metres, and the road was closed for 17 days afterwards to clear the debris.
