白約翰（John Gilbert Hyndley Baker）是香港聖公會港澳教區第八任主教，一九六六年至一九八一年在任。〈教省歷史〉記載，他於一九六六年成為港澳教區第一位經由議會選舉出來的主教，亦是最後一位教區的英國人主教；任內延續聖公會把教會與教育及社會福利緊扣的傳統。同頁提到，他往後按立的第二、第三、第四位聖公會女牧師，才是「正式」得到普世聖公宗確認。官方〈歷任主教〉頁把英文名寫作 John Gilbert Hyndley Baker，〈教省歷史〉則寫 John Gilbert Baker。

John Gilbert Hyndley Baker was the eighth Bishop of the Hong Kong-Macau diocese, in office from 1966 to 1981. The province's official history records that in 1966 he became the first bishop of the diocese elected by its synod and the last British bishop of the diocese, and that he continued the church's tradition of tying its life to education and social welfare. The same page notes that the second, third and fourth women priests he later ordained were the ones formally recognised by the Anglican Communion. The official list of past bishops gives his English name as John Gilbert Hyndley Baker, while the official history gives John Gilbert Baker.
