鄺日修是香港聖公會首位華人牧師。〈教省歷史〉記載，香港第一間華語聖公會教堂是建於一八六五年的聖士提反堂，他是該堂第一位華人牧師，同時亦在九龍開展聖三一堂的事工；同頁編年記載，他於一八八四年被按立為香港首位華人聖公會牧師。該頁一幅書影的說明寫「鄺日修牧師（1840-1921）於1915年所著《真道明辨》」，本條的生卒年即取自該說明。

The first Chinese Anglican priest in Hong Kong. The province's official history records that St Stephen's Church, built in 1865, was the first Chinese-language Anglican church in Hong Kong, that he was its first Chinese priest, and that he also began the work of Holy Trinity Church in Kowloon; its chronology records that he was ordained in 1884 as the first Chinese Anglican priest in Hong Kong. A caption to a book image on the same page gives his dates as 1840 to 1921 and identifies him as the author of a work published in 1915, and this entry takes his dates from that caption.
