法庭傳譯主任在法庭、內庭及各類司法程序中即時傳譯，主要處理中文與英文，亦涵蓋其他語言及方言，並翻譯法律文件與證供。工作講求即時與準確，傳譯員要忠實反映發言者的意思，不可加入個人判斷或立場。由於涉及司法程序，保密、中立與專業操守是基本要求，任何偏離都可能影響程序公正。
按法庭二級傳譯主任的入職條件，申請人須持有香港任何一所大學頒授的學士學位或同等學歷，在綜合招聘考試的中文運用及英文運用兩卷取得「二級」成績或同等成績，能力傾向測試取得及格，並在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格。語文上須能操流利粵語及英語，如亦能操流利普通話更佳，並須通過技能測試。
法庭傳譯主任職系設有清晰的晉升階梯。按官方公布的架構，依次為法庭二級傳譯主任、法庭一級傳譯主任、法庭高級傳譯主任及法庭總傳譯主任，各級對應不同的總薪級表薪點範圍。入職者由二級傳譯主任起步，按表現與年資向上晉升，職級愈高，工作亦會涉及督導下屬及統籌更複雜的傳譯安排。

Court interpreters interpret in courtrooms, chambers and various judicial proceedings, handling mainly Chinese and English but also other languages and dialects, and translating legal documents and evidence. The work demands immediacy and accuracy: an interpreter must faithfully convey the speaker's meaning without adding personal judgement or stance. Because the setting is a judicial proceeding, confidentiality, neutrality and professional conduct are basic requirements. Any departure from that role can affect the fairness of the proceedings, and interpreters must keep pace with fast speech and overlapping voices.
For Court Interpreter II, an applicant must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent, have Level 2 in both Use of Chinese and Use of English in the Common Recruitment Examination or equivalent, have a pass in the Aptitude Test, and have a pass in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test. They must be fluent in Cantonese and English — with Putonghua an advantage — and pass a trade test. These are the requirements published by the Judiciary for the rank.
The Court Interpreter grade has a clear promotion ladder. Under the published structure it runs from Court Interpreter II to Court Interpreter I, Senior Court Interpreter and Chief Court Interpreter, each mapped to a different range of Master Pay Scale points. New recruits start at Court Interpreter II and move up on performance and seniority. Higher ranks take on supervision and more complex interpretation arrangements for the courts. 政務主任是政府的政策與公共管理工作。2025/26 年度招聘以一級或二級榮譽學士學位為學歷門檻，並要通過綜合招聘考試、聯合招聘考試及《基本法及香港國安法》測試。
行政主任專長資源與系統管理，調派到各政策局及部門。學士學位即可投考，不一定要榮譽等級——與政務主任不是同一條路。
投考警員須為香港特別行政區永久性居民，並符合學歷、語文、《基本法及香港國安法》測試及體能等要求；錄取後會在警察學院接受住宿訓練。
消防員（行動／海務）屬消防處紀律部隊職位，主要執行滅火、救援及防火職務。入職以文憑試／會考學歷為主，並須通過視力、體能、模擬實際工作及能力傾向筆試。
