註冊基本要求
喺香港要做執業醫生，一定要向香港醫務委員會申請註冊，並要證明自己有良好品格同符合所有學歷、考試同實習要求。唔同嘅學歷背景（本地港大/中大醫科，或者非本地醫科）會走唔一樣嘅註冊路徑，但最終都要符合委員會嘅所有要求先可以正式執業。
薪酬參考
醫生嘅薪酬取決於僱主。公營醫院醫生按醫管局公布嘅薪酬表支薪，駐院醫生、專科醫生同顧問醫生屬唔同職級；政府醫生職系則按公務員薪級表。私家醫院、醫療集團同私人執業由市場決定，專科種類、診所成本同病人基礎影響好大，收入可以相差幾倍。因此本站唔列月薪、年薪或者診金估算；睇公營或私營招聘時，要問清楚底薪、津貼、召喚（on-call）安排同獎金制度。
培訓同晉升路線：完成實習同全科培訓之後，經專科培訓考取專科資格，可以由駐院醫生升為副顧問醫生，再到顧問醫生；私家市場則常見由受僱醫生轉為私人執業或者醫療集團嘅合伙人。
專科培訓路徑
在香港要成為專科醫生，必須在獲得正式註冊後，進入一個嚴格且漫長的畢業後培訓系統。此系統由「香港醫學專科學院」(Hong Kong Academy of Medicine) 負責監督。
1. **進入培訓**: 醫生在完成一年實習後，需受僱於醫院管理局轄下或認可的培訓醫院，並申請加入其中一個專科學院（例如：內科、外科、兒科等）開始專科培訓。
2. **培訓期**: 整個專科培訓為期至少六年。培訓分為「基礎培訓」和「高級培訓」兩個階段。
3. **中期及終期考試**: 受訓醫生需要在培訓期間通過所屬專科學院舉辦的中期考試，並在完成所有培訓要求後，通過終期考試。考試形式嚴格，通常包括筆試、臨床和口試，以確保其專業水平達到國際標準。
4. **取得專科資格**: 成功通過終期考試後，受訓醫生便可獲取香港醫學專科學院的「院士」資格 (Fellowship)，並向香港醫務委員會申請將其姓名列入「專科醫生名冊」。
5. **持續進修**: 成為專科醫生後，並非一勞永逸。他們必須遵守醫務委員會的「持續醫學教育」(CME) 要求，在每三年周期內取得足夠的學分，才能維持其專科醫生的註冊資格。

Basic registration requirements
To practise medicine in Hong Kong, you must apply for registration with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, prove you are of good character and meet all academic, examination and internship requirements. Different educational backgrounds (local HKU/CUHK medicine or non-local medical degrees) follow different registration pathways, but all must satisfy the Council's requirements to practise legally.
Salary Reference
Doctors' pay depends on the employer. Public hospital doctors are paid on the Hospital Authority pay tables, with resident, specialist and consultant posts on different grades, while government doctor grades follow the civil service pay scale. Private hospitals, medical groups and private practice are market-driven: specialty, clinic costs and patient base make a large difference, and earnings can vary several times over. This site therefore prints no monthly, annual or consultation-fee estimate; when considering a public or private post, ask about the base rate, allowances, on-call arrangements and bonus schemes.
Training and progression: having completed internship and general training, doctors take specialist training and examinations, then move from resident to associate consultant and consultant; in the private market, doctors commonly move from salaried posts into private practice or partnership in a medical group.
Specialist Training Pathways
Becoming a specialist in Hong Kong requires entering a rigorous and lengthy postgraduate training system after obtaining full registration. This system is overseen by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine.
1. **Entering Training**: After completing the one-year internship, doctors must be employed by a training hospital under the Hospital Authority or another recognized institution and apply to join one of the specialist colleges (e.g., Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics) to begin their training.
2. **Training Period**: The entire specialist training lasts for a minimum of six years, divided into "Basic Training" and "Higher Training" stages.
3. **Intermediate and Final Examinations**: Trainees must pass an intermediate examination set by their respective college during their training. After fulfilling all training requirements, they must pass a final examination. These exams are rigorous, typically including written, clinical, and oral components to ensure their professional standards meet international benchmarks.
4. **Obtaining Specialist Qualification**: Upon successfully passing the final examination, the trainee is awarded Fellowship of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine and can apply to the Medical Council of Hong Kong to have their name included in the Specialist Register.
5. **Continuing Medical Education (CME)**: Being a specialist is not the end of the road. They must comply with the Medical Council's CME requirements, obtaining a sufficient number of credits within each three-year cycle to maintain their specialist registration.
