Guides must hold a Travel Industry Authority licence; hotel and event posts are usually company-trained, and languages (Cantonese, Putonghua, English, sometimes Japanese or Korean) are the most practical asset you bring. Peak season means very long hours.

Build-up and dismantling are the heaviest phases, with crews moving equipment, running cables and assembling booths against the schedule and safety instructions; during the show the focus shifts to crowd flow, guiding exhibitors and restocking, with incidents such as power failures or crowding reported immediately.
As advertised by the venue operator or organiser: secondary education, fitness for manual work and shifts including overnight, and basic English or Putonghua. Venue safety, fire and evacuation training follows, along with learning the layout and location of equipment.
The venue operator or contractor sets daily, hourly or monthly pay with no statutory scale; overnight and overtime allowances vary, so this site prints no estimate. The route runs venue staff, venue team leader, venue supervisor, then event operations manager, with moves into build contractors, lighting and audio or event production.
