1840-12-19 · 廣州、廈門、福州、大嶼山、香港島

1840年12月19日，琦善以欽差大臣名義上奏清廷，提議同意賠付英方鴉片煙價六百萬銀元，並於廣州之外另開廈門、福州兩個通商口岸，以避免英國以武力強佔大嶼山或香港島。

On 19 December 1840, Qishan submitted a memorial to the Qing court in the name of Imperial Commissioner, proposing to agree to pay the British six million silver dollars for the opium and to open Xiamen and Fuzhou as additional treaty ports besides Guangzhou, in order to prevent Britain from seizing Lantau Island or Hong Kong Island by force.
