1848-10-19 · 香港

1848年10月19日，怡和洋行與寶順洋行，加上香港及廣州多家洋行共同出資，組成香港廣州郵船公司，此乃香港首家輪船企業；次年春天，該公司開設香港至廣州的定期航班，惟於1854年結束營運。

On 19 October 1848, Jardine Matheson and Dent & Co., together with several foreign firms in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, jointly funded the formation of the Hong Kong and Canton Steam Packet Company, Hong Kong's first steamship enterprise; the following spring it launched a regular service between Hong Kong and Guangzhou, but ceased operations in 1854.
