On 25 October 1951, the Chinese Reform Association launched a signature campaign aimed at seeking compensation from Japan, documenting the various damages suffered by the people during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong, and submitted it to the British government, urging it to honour its assurance of supporting Hong Kong's claims.
