1957年3月28日，屯門區的洪水坑水塘與藍地水塘開始供水，為元朗至屯門一帶數十條村落提供灌溉用水，屬香港首批灌溉水塘。
On 28 March 1957, the Hung Shui Hang Reservoir and Lam Tei Reservoir in Tuen Mun District began supplying water, providing irrigation water for dozens of villages from Yuen Long to Tuen Mun, and were among Hong Kong's first irrigation reservoirs.
