The Hong Kong Tourism Board and the Census and Statistics Department publish annual visitor arrivals. In 2025 arrivals totalled about 55.3 million, up from 2024. Mainland visitors accounted for the majority, followed by Macao, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, South Korea, Japan, the United States and Europe.
Hong Kong ranks among the world’s most-visited destinations. Official statistics record tens of millions of arrivals a year and a vast hotel and guesthouse network, reflecting its draw as a tourist city.
How many hotel groups are there in Hong Kong?
Officially Hong Kong counts licensed hotels rather than groups by brand. As of end-2025 there were 333 licensed hotels with 93,472 rooms, plus licensed guesthouses under a separate licence class. The exact brand distribution of each group is market information not collected here.
