Notes and definition
GovHK “Hong Kong: The Facts — Agriculture & Fisheries” (December 2025 edition): “As at 2025, there were 43 pig farms and 29 poultry farms locally.” These are licensed livestock farms and cover a different scope from the AFCD “Agriculture in Hong Kong” page’s roughly 2,500 farms in all (vegetable, orchard and other farms), so they must not be added or subtracted. The same factsheet records two licensed dairy farms, in Sha Tau Kok and Tai Po.
There is more than one official basis
How many farms does Hong Kong have — the total across all farm types, or the licensed pig and poultry farms counted separately?
The same question has 2 official bases; their figures and scopes cannot be added together or swapped.

The two percentages cover different categories of produce and must not be added into a “local fish self-sufficiency rate”; they are also a separate set from the farm produce ratios for vegetables and live pigs. | 2025 | GovHK: Hong Kong: The Facts — Agriculture & Fisheries |
