註冊水喉匠（持牌水喉匠）係唯一可以合法承接指定供水系統工程嘅身分，牌照由水務署簽發，要先通過水喉匠考試。
建造及維修呢個行業係點運作
地盤工、水喉、木工、油漆、鋁窗、冷氣等工種。呢個行業靠工藝同年資：建造業議會同水務署各有註冊／訓練制度，學徒制（邊做邊讀）係最常見嘅入行通道，持牌水喉匠更要向水務署註冊。工作體力要求高，安全訓練係開工前嘅硬性條件。
Site work and the wet trades — plumbing, carpentry, painting, window frames and air conditioning. This sector runs on craft skill and years on the tools: the CIC and the Water Supplies Department each run registration and training schemes, apprenticeship (learn while you earn) is the usual way in, and licensed plumbers must register with the WSD. The work is physical, and safety training is compulsory before you start.

指定嘅供水系統工程（例如新裝或改動水錶、改動內部供水系統、接駁街喉）必須由持牌水喉匠處理，持牌人亦要就工程向水務署申請同提交證明文件。未持牌而做呢類工程，從業員同僱主都有法律風險。
一般先在行內做技工，累積水管工程實務年資，其後向水務署申請水喉匠考試（筆試及實務），並符合水務署公布嘅學歷同經驗條件；考試合格先獲發牌照。牌照有指定年期，續期要符合當時嘅要求，以水務署公布為準。
薪酬由僱主或工程合約決定，冇法定薪級；自行承接工程就按報價扣物料同人工成本，利潤同工程數量同工期關係大，所以本站唔估算收入。持牌後可以獨立承接指定工程，亦可做管工、開設水喉工程公司，或者兼做物業維修同驗收工作。

Specified water supply works, such as installing or altering a meter, altering internal plumbing or making a connection to a street main, must be handled by a licensed plumber, who also applies to the department and submits certification for the works. Carrying out such works without a licence exposes both the worker and the employer to legal risk.
In practice you first work as a plumbing technician to build up practical water pipe experience, then apply to the Water Supplies Department for the plumbing examination, which has a written and a practical part, and meet the published academic and experience conditions; the licence is issued on passing. It runs for a set term and renewal is subject to the requirements published at the time.
Pay is set by the employer or the works contract, with no statutory scale; those taking on their own contracts deduct material and labour costs from the quoted price, so profit tracks the number and duration of jobs and this site prints no estimate. Once licensed you can take on specified works independently, supervise a crew, set up a plumbing contracting firm, or combine this with property maintenance and inspection work.

水喉學徒係香港水管工程嘅入行起點：跟持牌水喉匠做供水同排水工程，同時讀職專課程，累積年資後考水務署水喉匠考試。
建築工人係地盤前線工種嘅統稱：紮鐵、釘板、落石屎、砌磚、批盪同拆卸等。入行靠訓練同工藝測試確立技能，而喺地盤工作要有建造業工人註冊證。
冷氣技術員做空調系統嘅安裝、保養同維修，會接觸受管制雪種同電力部分，所以法定同安全要求都跟得緊。
「裝修師傅」係行業統稱，唔係單一牌照：電力、水務同小型工程各自有法定資格要求，結構改動更加要入則批准。
