In the autumn of the 6th year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming dynasty, between the 8th and 9th lunar months, Qingyuan, Zengcheng, Longmen, Dongguan and other places experienced heavy rain, with accumulated water reaching seven to eight chi, causing damage to crops and dwellings.
