1808年9月11日，即清嘉慶十三年七月二十一日，虎門協副將林國良率領二十五艘船出海追剿海盜張保（又名張保仔）；追至現今索罟羣島孖洲一帶的孖洲洋時，林國良一方被張保擊敗，他本人遭生擒後喪命。
On 11 September 1808, i.e., the twenty-first day of the seventh month of the thirteenth year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing dynasty, Lin Guoliang, deputy general of the Humen Brigade, led twenty-five ships to pursue the pirate Cheung Po (also known as Cheung Po Tsai); when the pursuit reached Twin Island waters near present-day Ma Chau in the Soko Islands, Lin Guoliang's force was defeated by Cheung Po, and he was captured alive and killed.
