Infernal Affairs (2002), directed by Andrew Lau and Alan Mak and starring Andy Lau and Tony Leung among others, won Best Film at the 22nd Hong Kong Film Awards among other prizes for its dual-undercover structure, and later inspired a Hollywood remake. The line “I want to be a good person” is often excerpted as a marker of identity and redemption.
