In 1684, the Tang clan of Kam Tin began building the Kam Tin Chow Wong Two Lords Study Hall in commemoration of the efforts of Governor-General of Liangguang Zhou Youde and Guangdong Governor Wang Lairan in petitioning the court to bring about the reopening of the boundary, and it was completed in 1685.
