清康熙二十七年，五都79村大部分位於今香港境內，涵蓋香港島、九龍各區及離島、沙田、西貢、葵涌、荃灣、元朗、屯門。
In the 27th year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing dynasty, most of the 79 villages of the fifth du were located within present-day Hong Kong, covering Hong Kong Island, the districts of Kowloon and the outlying islands, Sha Tin, Sai Kung, Kwai Chung, Tsuen Wan, Yuen Long and Tuen Mun.

於清朝雍正統治時期（1723年至1735年），五個家族——張氏、曾氏、黃氏、許氏及鄧氏——合力建造了淺灣圍，此處如今稱為荃灣老圍；清初解除遷界令後，該聚落是荃灣區內最先建成的村落。
During the reign of the Yongzheng Emperor of the Qing dynasty (1723–1735), five clans—the Cheungs, Tsangs, Wongs, Huis and Tangs—jointly built Tsun Wan Wai, now known as Tsuen Wan Old Wai, which was the first village built in the Tsuen Wan area after the lifting of the coastal evacuation order in the early Qing.

Documents show that the eighth year of the Yongzheng reign of the Qing dynasty (1730) was the founding year of the three villages of Kwu Hang, Chuen Lung and Chai Wan Kok in Tsuen Wan.

清乾隆二十二年（1757年），來自福建寧化的陳任盛移居至荃灣老屋場，成為荃灣陳氏家族的開基祖先。
In the 22nd year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing dynasty (1757), Chan Yam-shing moved from Ninghua in Fujian to Old House Site in Tsuen Wan, becoming the founding ancestor of the Chan clan of Tsuen Wan.
