張家朗1997年出世，父母都係籃球員，少年時由籃球轉打劍擊。2021年東京奧運，佢喺男子花劍奪金，係香港史上第二面奧運金牌；2024年巴黎奧運更成功衛冕，成為首位連續兩屆奧運奪金嘅香港運動員，亦係六十八年來首位衛冕奧運男子花劍冠軍嘅劍手。佢冷靜霸氣嘅劍風同「最後一劍定勝負」嘅經典場面，令劍擊喺香港瞬間成為全城熱潮。

Cheung Ka-long, born in 1997 to former basketball players, switched from basketball to fencing as a teenager. At the Tokyo Olympics (2021) he won gold in men's foil — Hong Kong's second-ever Olympic gold — and at Paris 2024 he defended the title, becoming the first Hong Kong athlete to win gold at two consecutive Olympics and the first men's foil champion to retain the Olympic crown in 68 years.
