劉以鬯

劉以鬯（1918–2018），上海人，1948年南來香港，長期主編本地報章文藝副刊，同時以實驗手法寫小說。1963年出版嘅《酒徒》被譽為中國首部意識流小說；1972年嘅《對倒》以雙線平行敘事寫一對互不相識嘅人。王家衛嘅《花樣年華》正係受《對倒》啟發，男主角周慕雲之名亦由此而來。佢係香港現代主義文學嘅奠基者，香港文學史繞不開嘅名字。

Liu Yichang (1918-2018), born in Shanghai, moved to Hong Kong in 1948 and spent decades editing literary supplements for local newspapers while writing fiction of remarkable formal daring. His novel The Drunkard (1963), regarded as the first stream-of-consciousness novel in Chinese, and Tête-bêche (對倒, 1972) directly inspired Wong Kar-wai's In the Mood for Love — whose protagonist Mr. Chow takes his name from the latter. He is regarded as the founding figure of Hong Kong modernist literature.
