饒宗頤

饒宗頤（1917–2018），潮州人，自學成家，被尊稱為「國學大師」。佢嘅學問橫跨甲骨學、敦煌學、簡帛學、宗教史同中外文化交流史，兼擅書畫，與季羨林並稱「南饒北季」。1949年起長居香港，先後任教於香港大學同香港中文大學，令香港成為中國傳統學術得以延續開拓嘅重鎮。佢一生著述逾千萬字，2018年逝世，享壽百歲。

Rao Zongyi (1917-2018), known as the 'Grand Master of Chinese studies', was a self-taught polymath whose scholarship ranged across oracle-bone studies, Dunhuang manuscripts, ancient history and comparative civilisations, while he was also a distinguished calligrapher and painter. Settling in Hong Kong in 1949, he taught for decades at the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University, making the city a refuge and powerhouse for Chinese scholarship.
