張國榮1956年出世，1977年憑麗的電視「亞洲業餘歌唱比賽」入行，《風繼續吹》《Monica》等金曲令佢喺八十年代成為樂壇巨星。1986年佢喺吳宇森《英雄本色》嶄露頭角，其後《倩女幽魂》《胭脂扣》確立戲路；1993年《霸王別姬》入面嘅程蝶衣成為華語影史經典角色，該片更奪得康城金棕櫚大獎。2003年4月1日佢喺中環文華東方酒店躍下離世，震動整個華人社會。佢係華語娛樂史上最勇於活出真我嘅藝人之一，「哥哥」嘅風采至今無人能替代。

Leslie Cheung, born in 1956, entered show business in 1977 through the ATV amateur singing contest, becoming a Cantopop legend in the 1980s with classics like The Wind Blows On and Monica. He rose to film stardom in John Woo's A Better Tomorrow (1986), followed by A Chinese Ghost Story and Rouge. His Peking-opera diva Cheng Dieyi in Farewell My Concubine (1993) became an icon of Chinese cinema, in the film that won the Palme d'Or at Cannes. His death on 1 April 2003, after leaping from the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Central, stunned the Chinese-speaking world. He remains one of the most fearless and authentic artists in Chinese entertainment history.
