區焯文1975年出世，畢業於香港演藝學院戲劇學院，九十年代末加入東方魅力做司儀，2000年代初喺有線兒童台主持《IQ雙拼》，係一代細路嘅童年回憶。2009年被解約後一度失業三年，人生低處轉戰電影，2015年執導《鴨王》翻身，港澳票房破六百萬。之後風格轉向寫實關懷：自資拍《毛俠》(2018)講動物保護，《說笑之人》(2023)寫父子情，2024年仲擔任《爸爸》嘅聯合導演，由話題導演蛻變成社會關懷型創作人。

Born in 1975, Au Cheuk-man was a beloved children's television host on Cable TV in the early 2000s. Sacked in 2009 and unemployed for three years, he rebuilt himself as a film director with The Gigolo (2015), which grossed over HK$6 million. He then turned to social-realist films on animal welfare (2018) and father-son bonds (2023), and co-directed Papa (2024) — a remarkable evolution from tabloid-fodder director to socially engaged filmmaker.
