English
Lau Jing is a Hong Kong film director chiefly active in the early 1990s. In 1992 he directed the erotic drama A Sex Ghost Story (Yim Gwai Jeui Wan), starring Hui So-lin and Fung Chun-nei, which opened in Hong Kong on 21 August that year and was rated Category III; it tells of a newly married couple who rent a villa, encounter a series of strange events, and whose husband nightly dreams of an affair with a female ghost, unaware of the danger ahead. It belongs to the early-1990s wave of local films mixing the supernatural, eroticism and thrills; at that time Hong Kong production was still dominated by small and mid-sized pictures, among which Category III titles blending ghost and erotic elements were common. Public information about Lau himself is, however, very limited: apart from A Sex Ghost Story, no other directing work can be securely confirmed, and his birth year, background and full filmography remain to be verified, with a number of people sharing the name. This entry rests only on what can currently be documented, without speculation.
