單慧珠1951年喺上海出世，身兼香港導演同電視製作人。佢早年在無綫電視處理劇集編導工作，1970年代末至90年代主要喺公營嘅香港電台電視部執導《獅子山下》等單元劇，部分作品曾喺國際獲獎。電影方面，佢喺1980年代拍過《忌廉溝鮮奶》等少量作品，被歸入香港電影新浪潮導演之列。1996年移居夏威夷，2000年代初返港，其後以獨立製作人身分為無綫電視製作人物訪問紀錄片《情常在》，呢個亦係佢後期主要作品。

Born in Shanghai in 1951, Rachel Zen is a Hong Kong director and television producer. She directed drama series at TVB before spending the late 1970s to the 1990s at the publicly funded RTV Television Division, making episodes of the Below the Lion Rock anthology and other single dramas that won international awards. In the 1980s she also directed a small number of features, among them Cream, Soda and Milk, placing her among the directors of the Hong Kong New Wave. Emigrating to Hawaii in 1996, she returned to Hong Kong in the early 2000s and worked as an independent producer on the interview documentary series Always by Your Side for TVB.
