范秀明

范秀明1955年出世，後生時喺台灣讀國立藝術大學影劇系；1977年畢業返港，加入麗的電視做助理編導，一年多後升做編導。1981年佢過檔無綫電視，執導《射鵰英雄傳》、《神鵰俠侶》、《天龍八部》等劇集，當時拍嘅多數係蕭笙監製嘅武俠劇。1990年佢離開無綫返台灣，執導《戲說慈禧》、《戲說乾隆》；九十年代一度重返亞洲電視，之後再回台灣拍《馬永貞》、《保鏢》。1997年之後，佢主要喺中國大陸發展。

Born in 1955, Fan Sau-ming studied drama at the National Taiwan University of Arts and returned to Hong Kong in 1977 to join RTV as an assistant director, becoming a director within a year. Moving to TVB in 1981, he directed serials such as Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, The Legend of the Condor Heroes and The Return of the Condor Heroes, mostly produced by Siu Sang. After leaving TVB in 1990 he directed the Taiwanese hits The Qianlong Emperor and The Empress Dowager Cixi, later returning to ATV before making more drama in Taiwan, including The Bodyguard and Ma Yongzhen. From 1997 he worked mainly in mainland China.
