鄭偉文1963年出世。佢八十年代投身電視圈，先喺1983年做無綫電視助理編導，1989年轉去亞洲電視任編導，1996年獲提拔為監製，首部監製劇集係《等着你回來》。電影方面，1995年應陳木勝邀請合導《旺角的天空》；兩年後執導《陰陽路》當中《抄墓碑》一節而受到注目，隨後合共執導十多部電影，題材以恐怖同驚慄為主。2001年離開亞視，專心拍電影；2004年回巢出任製作經理，2005年升助理製作總監，2007年再度離任，事業重心轉往內地、台灣同新加坡。

Born in 1963, Cheng Wai-man joined TVB as an assistant director in 1983, moved to ATV as a director in 1989 and became a producer in 1996, his first series being Waiting for You to Return. In 1995 Benny Chan invited him to co-direct The Sky of Wandering, and his contribution to the 1997 horror omnibus Troublesome Night brought him attention; he has since directed more than a dozen films, mostly horror and thrillers. He left ATV in 2001 to concentrate on film, returned as production manager in 2004 and assistant production director in 2005, and departed again in 2007, working thereafter across the mainland, Taiwan and Singapore.
