青衣係「海島變成工業同住宅重地」嘅一個例子：明代海防記事、清代分約同居民數目，一路到戰後屋邨、貨櫃港同跨海橋樑。呢條軸把島上嘅海防、人口、環境同基建條目排成一線。

Tsing Yi is an island turned industrial and residential: Ming coastal-defence notes, Qing sub-district and headcount records, then post-war estates, a container port and bridges. Defence, population, environment and infrastructure entries sit on one thread.

島上人口、屋邨戶數等未有官方登記數字者唔會估算；葵青區層面嘅數字係全區口徑（包含葵涌），唔可以當成青衣島本身嘅數據。

Island population and estate household counts with no registered official number are not estimated; district-level Kwai Tsing figures cover the whole district (including Kwai Chung) and must not be read as the island’s own.
