九龍城區位於九龍中部偏東，由九龍城、何文田、土瓜灣、馬頭圍、紅磡及啟德組成。南臨維多利亞港，東面是前啟德機場跑道及舊跑道發展區。

Kowloon City sits in east-central Kowloon, comprising Kowloon City, Ho Man Tin, To Kwa Wan, Ma Tau Wai, Hung Hom and Kai Tak. It faces Victoria Harbour to the south, with the former Kai Tak runway and its redevelopment to the east.

清代築有九龍寨城，1899 年後成為「三不管」地帶，1993 年清拆，原址現為九龍寨城公園。啟德機場於 1925 年啟用，至 1998 年 7 月 6 日停用時是全球最繁忙機場之一，跑道伸入維多利亞港。紅磡是九廣鐵路（東鐵）過海前嘅九龍總站所在，亦是紅磡海底隧道（1972 年）九龍入口。黃埔花園建於前黃埔船塢舊址。

The Kowloon Walled City stood here in the Qing era; after 1899 it became an ungoverned enclave and was demolished in 1993, its site now being Kowloon Walled City Park. Kai Tak Airport operated from 1925 until 6 July 1998 as one of the world’s busiest airports, with its runway projecting into Victoria Harbour. Hung Hom was the Kowloon terminus of the Kowloon–Canton Railway before the East Rail crossed the harbour, and is the portal of the Cross-Harbour Tunnel (1972). Whampoa Garden was built on the old Hunghom shipyard.

The Kwun Tong Line extension serves Ho Man Tin, To Kwa Wan, Sung Wong Toi and Whampoa; the Tuen Ma Line passes through Hung Hom. The Cross-Harbour Tunnel and East Rail line make this a key cross-harbour node. The Kai Tak development includes a cruise terminal and a future automated people mover.

Hung Hom and To Kwa Wan mix older industrial and residential use, with recent redevelopment underway. The Kai Tak development is a large new scheme of homes, commerce and the cruise terminal. Whampoa has a large mall and community shopping.
