1940年8月5日當日，九廣鐵路位於大埔坳的隧道發生山泥傾瀉事故，造成逾20人死亡、10餘人受傷。
On 5 August 1940, a landslide occurred in the Kowloon-Canton Railway tunnel at Tai Po Au, causing more than 20 deaths and over 10 injuries.
