The Intellectual Property Department publishes application and registration statistics for trademarks, patents and designs. In 2024 there were 33,149 trademark applications and 28,835 registrations, plus 15,758 standard patent applications. The source-country distribution, which signals overseas confidence in Hong Kong's IP protection regime, is not yet catalogued here. This collection cites only the IPD's official annual figures and does not comment on the validity of or disputes over individual marks or patents. Short-term patents, design applications and registrations, and country-of-origin breakdowns, are unrecorded further data.
