    加州淘金熱開始，華工經港赴美 / California Gold Rush begins; Chinese labourers sail via Hong Kong

    1848 年加州淘金熱爆發，大量華工經香港乘船赴美。香港逐漸成為華人出洋嘅主要港口，航運同移民服務興起。

    The 1848 California Gold Rush sparked a wave of Chinese labourers departing for America via Hong Kong. The colony gradually became a major port for Chinese emigration, with shipping and migration services emerging.
