賽馬是香港最受關注嘅體育活動。跑馬地馬場（1840 年代開始賽馬）是香港首個馬場；沙田馬場（1978 年啟用）是主要賽事場地。香港賽馬會是法定慈善機構，馬季由九月至翌年七月。
足球是本地最受歡迎嘅團體運動，香港大球場（掃桿埔）是主要場地。龍舟競渡是端午節傳統，赤柱、西貢、大澳等地每年舉辦賽事。單車運動近年成績突出，香港單車館（將軍澳）設有室內單車場。
康文署管理多個體育館、游泳池同運動場。香港運動員在奧運、亞運等國際賽事屢獲佳績。

Horse racing is Hong Kong’s most followed sport. Happy Valley Racecourse (racing from the 1840s) was the first track; Sha Tin Racecourse (opened 1978) hosts the main meetings. The Hong Kong Jockey Club is a statutory charity; the season runs from September to July.
Football is the most popular team sport, with the Hong Kong Stadium (So Kon Po) as the main venue. Dragon boat racing is a Tuen Ng tradition, with races at Stanley, Sai Kung, Tai O and elsewhere. Cycling has produced notable international results; the Hong Kong Velodrome in Tseung Kwan O has an indoor track.
The LCSD manages sports centres, swimming pools and stadiums. Hong Kong athletes have won medals at the Olympics, Asian Games and other international events.
This site records only sports facilities and statistics with official sources; individual race or match results are not included.
LCSD publishes yearly totals and district-level distributions of public swimming pools, sports centres, stadiums and tennis courts, together with participant numbers for recreational programmes. The department’s sports subsidy schemes also tally funded national sports associations and training places. These facility and subsidy figures are not yet individually enumerated here.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club separately publishes numbers of meetings, total turnover, prize-money totals and charitable donation amounts per racing season, all with clear fiscal-year stamps. Although they are statutory-body public data, citations must follow the Jockey Club annual report text. Non-public statistics on the private market — gym memberships, clubhouse debentures, sporting-goods retail and the like — are intentionally not estimated here.
