香港天文台：1941 至 1945 年日本佔領香港期間，天氣觀測工作被迫暫停；被日軍俘虜的職員斷續維持部分天氣觀測，1943 年 4 月的雨量紀錄記在煙包紙背面，隱約可見天文台台長的簽署。
Hong Kong Observatory: weather observations were forced to stop during the Japanese occupation of 1941–1945; interned staff kept some observations going intermittently, and the April 1943 rainfall record was written on the back of a cigarette packet, faintly signed by the Director.
事件橫跨 1941 至 1945 年，年鑑以此期間的 1942 年歸類，日期欄並非單一日期。 / The event spans 1941–1945; the yearbook files it under 1942, and the date field is not a single date.
