    香港接通電報 / Hong Kong connected by telegraph

    1871 年海底電報纜線由馬尼拉鋪設至香港，香港首次接入國際電報網絡，往來歐洲同亞洲嘅通訊時間由數週縮短至數小時。

    In 1871 a submarine telegraph cable was laid from Manila to Hong Kong, connecting Hong Kong to the international telegraph network for the first time and cutting communication time with Europe and Asia from weeks to hours.
