1957年10月21日，長沙灣一座徙置工廠大廈落成，此乃香港首座同類建築，隸屬港府徙置計劃，並由徙置事務處負責管理，旨在為無法自行建造或承租大型廠房之廠戶供應作業空間。
On 21 October 1957, a resettlement factory building was completed in Cheung Sha Wan, the first such building in Hong Kong, under the Hong Kong government's resettlement programme and managed by the Resettlement Department, aimed at providing workspace for factory operators unable to build or rent large premises themselves.
