公眾假期由《公眾假期條例》規管，銀行、學校、公共機構辦事處及政府部門適用。法定假日由《僱傭條例》規管，適用於僱員。兩份名單日期並不完全相同。例如 2026 年清明節、佛誕、重陽節本身是星期日：法定假日仍記在節日當日；公眾假期則把補假放在翌日，並因清明節翌日碰上復活節星期一而再有增補假期。 2026 年起法定假日新增復活節星期一，由 15 日逐步增至 2030 年的 17 日。完整日期表見本頁列表，來源分別為香港政府一站通及勞工處。

General holidays are made under the General Holidays Ordinance and apply to banks, schools, public offices and government departments. Statutory holidays are made under the Employment Ordinance and apply to employees. The dates are not identical. In 2026, Ching Ming, the Birthday of the Buddha and Chung Yeung fall on Sunday: the statutory holiday remains the festival day, while the general-holiday list moves the substitute to the following day, with a further substitute because the day after Ching Ming is Easter Monday. From 2026, Easter Monday is a statutory holiday. The statutory list will rise stepwise from 15 days to 17 days by 2030. The dated lists on this page come from GovHK and the Labour Department.
