香港歷史博物館：由 1998 年 4 月 1 日起易名為「香港歷史博物館」；同年 7 月遷至尖沙咀漆咸道南現址。

赤鱲角香港國際機場啓用 / HKIA at Chek Lap Kok opens
機場管理局：1998 年 7 月 6 日約凌晨 1 時 20 分啟德關閉；同日上午 6 時 27 分赤鱲角迎來首班商業航班。年報亦記 1998 年啓用。
Airport Authority: around 1:20 a.m. on 6 July 1998 Kai Tak closed; at 6:27 a.m. the same day the first commercial flight landed at Chek Lap Kok. The yearbook also records the 1998 opening.
