1925年6月23日，港府就蓮麻坑第3號礦業地段批出採礦租約，承租人為容閎之子容覲彤；其後八年，容覲彤於蓮麻坑經營礦業，並帶領開鑿六條礦道，合計長約2100米。
On 23 June 1925, the Hong Kong Government granted a mining lease for Mining Lot No. 3 at Lin Ma Hang to Yung Kin-tung, son of Yung Wing; over the following eight years, Yung Kin-tung operated the mine at Lin Ma Hang and led the excavation of six mine tunnels with a total length of about 2,100 metres.
