1911年3月27日，比利時飛行員溫德邦於沙田操作飛機作飛行示範，此乃香港歷來首度有飛機起降。
On 27 March 1911, Belgian pilot Charles Van den Born conducted a flying demonstration in Sha Tin, marking the first ever take-off and landing of an aircraft in Hong Kong.

1915年3月8日，上水華山樹林接獲居民通報發現老虎。兩名英籍警員開槍獵殺未果。新界助理警司寶靈翰率六名印籍警員到場圍捕，最終以槍械擊斃該虎。事件導致兩名警員及一名華人死亡。
On 8 March 1915, residents reported a tiger in the woods at Wa Shan, Sheung Shui; two British police officers opened fire but failed to kill it, and Assistant District Superintendent of Police for the New Territories Bowlingham led six Indian police officers to surround and eventually shoot the tiger dead, resulting in the deaths of two police officers and one Chinese person.
